Remake Tunesday

June 12th, 2007 by Chiel Montagne

Chiel Piel Montagne

Chocotofferts:
W00t.

Zoute snor:
What now remake? Here’s an original.

Maks:
Too bad I couldn’t get tickets for it, but on the 1st of June the British band Bat For Lashes played at the opening of the Arnhem Mode Biënnale.
Here’s a demo track called Howl by Bat For Lashes.

*–*:
Some nice tunes to cheer you up!

gast!: And KRS is king, but is also becoming a grumpy old man. (@ Sifco)

Speaking about grumpy old man and Mies Bouwman, here’s a little inbetween:
Beat the devil, drag the strip at dawn.

R.I.P. Daisy Dynamite

June 8th, 2007 by Maks

The (in)famous Dutch transvestite Daisy Dynamite passed away last tuesday. It’s a big mistake we didn’t dedicate our last ‘Tuesday Tunesday’ to her and I hereby apologize.
To honour her: here’s Botch-A-Me.
Rest In Peace Daisy and maybe have a little bit of fun with the late Mr. Dröge.

Fuck Reunions Tunesday!

June 5th, 2007 by Maks

w00terdew0000000000t!

Maks:
You may call me an old fart, but I simply can’t help it. The new Dinosaur Jr. album ‘Beyond’ simply sounds as pure and noisy as alt.rock should sound; even after all those years.
I know, fuck reunions, but hey this one rocks!
(Tomorrow @ Ochblog: the Dinosaur Jr. 1991 compilation-album ‘Fossils’)
Three Dinosaur Jr. songs:
From Beyond (2007): Almost Ready, Been There All The Time
From Bug (1988): Freak Scene

*–*:
I am still a bit amazed at last years reunion of metal gods Celtic Frost. The album Monotheist is innovative, diverse, heavier than heavy and quite a bit different than the old Frost. Still they did not forsake their style… I know some people don’t like the album, but I love it! A Dying God Coming Into Human Flesh Progeny

gast!:
Although their last reunion was under par (check 1) and uninspired (check 2), HipHop legends EPMD have also joined forces once again, to drop an album in the course of this year.

Electrofunk update: Extraspecial delivery for ikiro!

Chocotofferts:
Your random ping ping ping ping pong song

ikiro:
Elaborating on gast!’s theme, two tracks made by graffiti writers from the electrofunk era: Beat Bop and The Roxy.

“Krijg De Vinkuhtering, Dennis”- Tunesday!

June 1st, 2007 by Chiel Montagne

harhar

Since a lot of our editors here at Och are worthless slackers that rather spend their money on booze, drugs and women, they of course took an account at herejezus hosting several years ago. Herejezus hosting did not cost a turd and it was more or less working sometimes. At least for tunesday tunes it did. Until about a month ago…. You might have noticed that the tunesdays were a bit minimal lately. Herejezus was suddenly called ‘dit mag niet‘ and whatmore: everything did not work! We, the slackers of Och, were furious but what could we do?? Calling the telephone number of the helpdesk costs you more than the turd you pay for a year of hosting… so we waited, and waited. Until our editor Freek came by and fixed it all at Herejezus, who are now called ‘dit mag niet‘.. So thank you Freek! Next time do it a bit quicker, yeaah?

*–*: Damn Dennis, you’ve got a fucked up system..

Rams: This is where you belong Dennis !!!

Goodie: Dennis van Hoerenjezus? Als ik ‘m d’rveur krieg stap ik op het gas!

Chocotofferts:
Yo from the slackers pump that service system y hear!

Hemaprick better stops pestering our grand leader Pie with his *edit:male_cow_poo* or my all time hero Sandokan will chase him and kick his agricultural ass

Yup, Tunesday Time Again

w000000000000t!

Maks:
Creedence Clearwater Revivals singer and guitarist John Fogerty wrote ‘Proud Mary’ back in 1969 for their album ‘Bayou Country’, but also became a hit as Ike & Tina Turner recorded it.
Being a cover-addict I today present you the version by 60’s/70’s Cambodian singer-songwriter Ros Sereysothea. Her highly remarkable version called ‘Cry Loving Me’ is refashioned with Khmer lyrics.

ape: Over remarkable spoken, what thought you from the YMCA in the Cantonese?

gast!: A couple of bands koffered The Beatles for Mojo Magazine, so try it: Simple Kid-Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and Echo & The Bunnymen-All You Need Is Love

Ad Hominem: I have some plaatje that I donot know the title of, help me please by downloading them here!

Chocotofferts:

Tuesday Tunesday!

May 15th, 2007 by Chiel Montagne

w000000000000t!

Maks:
Unsurpassed German label Trikont released yet another superb CD: Mexican Boleros (Songs Of Heartbreaking, Passion & Pain 1927 – 1957). A must have, like almost all the other Trikont releases. One of the tracks that features at ‘Mexican Boleros‘ is the beautiful ‘Piensa En Mi’, originally recorded by Augustin Lara, but you of course already knew it in Freddy Fender’s cover-version at a Los Super Seven album.
Anyway, get both tracks here.

nodog: White Lines is a wellknown tune but did you know it was copied from this one?

Zoute snor: All in a day’s work.

farquaad: For *–*.

gast!: Nice and tight

biefstuk (from the comments): Wilde kat (Alexander Hacke, that one from einstürzende neubauten)

J-One:
This week escapes the new album of Coph Nia from our favorite slaughterhouse. (teaser | info)

Betsy:Power up your LOL.

Vilmer:A quicky this week (push push push, you know tog)

Ironhorse: See more or more sea. Whatever, don´t forget your Costello-sunglasses

’cause her taste is so sweet.

Not A Lovely Tunesday

May 8th, 2007 by Chiel Montagne

Love Kills

Maks:
Especially for one of our editors: Love Will Tear Us Apart, you known though!

JayJay:
Love seems to be on my mind…

Vilmer:
A natural choice is of course
this one

and I have this hard to find lovesong in the offer. (The last is also a tip from the head towel of my first post.)

Ad Hominem:
Not love, but oerdutch lof.

J-One:
Damn a editor in bad weather relation wise, looks like the time of the year. But hey, soon you can start digging the blooming blossoms of willing women!

Zoute snor:
Last week nobody cared, so here’s Carnivore in the rebound. And I’m sure someone gets romantic over this song, toch?

Sifco:
Gewoon SNOEI!hard opzetten Ed, nergens meer last van.

ironhorse:
wen er maar aan

Second coming tunesday (or some other tunesday)

April 30th, 2007 by Chiel Montagne

Zoute snor:
Inspired by the black forest, according to someone Jesus came back a little time ago.

gast!: This is also a song about the ultimate saviour. Eauh, and let’s not forget Broes Jumpingstone!

Johan Cruijff Tunesday

April 24th, 2007 by Chiel Montagne

chiel

Vinnie:
Tomorrow it’s Johan Cruijff’s 60th birthday. Today at 23:59 – 00:01 hours Johan is exactly 30 years older than me. So for this special occasion let’s honor the greatest soccer player Holland ever had: Happy Birthday

Joid:
Often is JC considered as “the son of”. But of course there is only one with the real hand of God. But I’m sure that Santa Maradona would be kind enough to congratulate Johan with that hand.

14?

Chocotofferts:
Whatever, eat my goal.
