What started out as a torture device invented for the US army turned out to be an interesting application for horn instruments, mostly used in jazz in the 60’s & 70’s. Saxophonists played with these electronics with mixed results, but other horn players didn’t use the technology.

While there’s all kind of stuff lying around in which you can buy a wii guitar, why not build besides the wii remote, simply your own toy guitar into a wii guitar!
Props for Dave, doing just that. Continue reading ‘Sleeping Dogs’
A while ago I celebrated my umptienth birthday and my house was filled with family and friends from afar and close.
From Ikiro I got two sets of flashing bicycleledlights and Beneger showed up with a so called vosim. For those of you who ever met him: he often brings something along with him that makes sound. (From now on that will be Balou). And then there was Choco who took a video of the bleep thingie.
This bleeping apparatus is an optically controllable vosim, a voice simulator, a simplistical optical vocal chord simulator. Continue reading ‘Flash piep’

Now it’s funny to go into a little retrospective. Let’s go way back to 2001 where guru Jobs on a keynote on october 23rd presents the first iPod. Simultaniously the first reactions on iPod by Mac adepts appeard online…
What will it bring today? Well the latest rumor is that the Germans used their old Nazi Abhör Apparat and they found a blueprint of tonights Keynote. We’ll see.
Coming pinxter monday i will be riding the Elfstedentocht. I won’t be skating the ice between the eleven Friesian cities however. And i’ll leave my bicycle at home. Time for some awards. While most awards are about what people write or dumped on their sijt, there’s actually also some awards for their well trusted backbone/platform and online services which aren’t as much mentioned.
Well, yesterday for the first time the first Dutch web awards for the next wave of webservices and tools, aka web 2.0, were handed out: Web 2.0 awards.
The presentation was done in a very cozy and beautiful room. Even a mac on the toilet! I enjoyed the event, congratulate the winners and are looking forward to next years event. More photos and reviews here and here.
