Bill Withers Tunesday

TUNESDAY

A week and a half ago, one of 0chblog’s many editors was flipping channels. Most of the time, against better judgement. But, this time the editor in question saw an old guy telling the story of how he ended up in the music business. It was Het uur van de wolf: De soul van Bill Withers is niet te koop. As a result, we now have a Bill Withers Tunesday. Or, at least, a Tunesday with a Bill Withers song.

farquaad: Lonely town, lonely street

ikiro: Bill’s most well known song got quite some coverage. Most are garbage, but some gems can be found. However I’m keeping the best one for myself for now, to be disclosed in a future pots of mine in the near future (/vooraankondiging). For compensation, listen to this slightly psychedelic cover of one of his lesser known songs, but still one of my personal favorites.

Maks: Grace did Bill too. On her masterpiece Nightclubbing from 1981 that is. She covered Bill Withers Use Me, from his 1972 album Still Bill.
