Since Och has been on bikes and boats, I thought we just needed the air too. Turns out, I by chance got the opportunity to fly with the kind people of Kammair. They offered a trip over the harbor (the second maas grounds) and over the city. Sounds good.
Howevah, the flight initially didn’t seem to going take place. It was almost three times canceled: Once because of internal affairs, second because of carnaval (too wasted) and almost third because ..the other passengers were too heavy. Just when you thought the fat air-tax was avoided. However, Kammair offered an earlier flight and free extra passengers! The last few years, I kept on seeing announcements that Miriam Makeba was to perform in town. Only, when I noticed the dates, it happened to have been last week. So I became slightly frustrated over the wish to take my mum along to see and especially hear that special woman she introduced me to.
Then finally last month, I saw she was performing again. In Paradiso, which was a plus, because the acoustics might be very well at the concertgebouw, and the grandeur matches the grandness of this lady, it remained an odd context for a woman of such importance for music and politics in music.

reet already advised us to visit and recently one of his colleagues
mistakenly reposted it, not knowing it was all part of a bigger plan. It all was the doing of La Machine, a french innovative, artistic idea to put a rather dull city back on the map.

It took her fifty years of roaming the oceans, finally the old bird came home and me and marie were there to witness it. On the southbank of the river near the exit of the pedestrian/cyclist tunnel a place i pass every day i present to you this little vlog of her majestic arrival.
