Toch een van de minst geliefde kleuren hier op 0ch: edet roze. En dan een hele pots met die kleur er bij! Gelukkig vinden we zelfbevlekking (mits je er niet met een URL vandoor gaat) hier helegaar niet zo erg dus we doen het lekker toch. Het nieuwe omroepseizoen is namelijk begonnen en daar horen ook nieuwe omroepen bij. PowNed, u heeft misschien van ze gehoord, heeft op prime-time (tussen 0:00 en 2:00 op zondagnacht) de tijd om het programma ‘Echte Jannen‘ uit te zenden.

Als we de moeite nemen het hier na te luisteren dan vinden we daar zomaar ineens een item van ondergetekende. U hoort het goed, om 1:30h is de wereldheerschappij van die Ed begonnen. Ik wil graag mijn oma bedanken, god, mijn ouders en farquaad ‘the ed voor van jolo 2010′ en internetporno en Dexters lab… Dat ik niet bij iedereen in goede aarde viel is hier te beluisteren. “Anvil”; with a bandname sounding as metal as that you wouldn’t expect anything less than “huge success” from a Heavy Metal band. But alas; maybe it was just Canada, maybe it was the timing, or maybe Steve “Lips” Kudlow is just too much of a g00dbag. Despite their influence “Anvil” never made it big, and Lips is still serving food around in his hometown in Canada. They’re actually pretty good, I think, and while they are maybe nog the most original sounding band, they could be way bigger than the are now, giving some better circumstances.

In a documentary as weird a “Spinal Tap” we get a look at the band, of which the two main members have been together for 30 years now. Talk about dedication. I believe that also for non-metalfans this is a great picture that gives you and overview of friendship, rock, dedication and just a glimpse at how weird life can be. You can probably best download it via our Swedish connection here or here in particular. Or maybe you’re just inclined to buying it in the end as this great band is even just distributing their latest release all by themselves.

(Ok, let’s just say; they’re really bad at bandmanagement, though they were at Graspop not too long ago.)

In de zomer is er “altijd” het programma “Zomergasten”. Deze zomer ging een van de afleveringen over een docent Sociologie aan de EUR, Willem Schinkel. U snapt wellicht waarom Edje deze man kende.

Vorig jaar verscheen een klein boekje van zijn hand; “Denken in een tijd van sociale hypochondrie. Aanzet tot een theorie voorbij de maatschappij.” Dit boek werd door NRC Handelsblad als één van de 100 beste boeken van 2007 gekozen. In het boek beschrijft Schinkel de Hypochondrische samenleving, waarbij vele meer of minder bekende grootheden als Foucault en Luhmann de revue passeren. “We leven in een hypochondrische maatschappij, die te veel doet aan zelfanalyse en zich allerlei kwalen aanpraat”, aldus Willem Schinkel. In deze aflevering van Zomergasten dus de keuzes voor televisie en filmfragmenten van Willem Schinkel. Zijn keuze voor de eindfilm was de documentaire The Cats of Mirikitani van Linda Hattendorf.

(Those Hungarians!) They have calculated how the mass in protons and neutrons is made up. The building blocks of these particles (gluons and quarks) only encompass 5% of the mass, the rest is the energy in the interaction of these. So please go ahead with converting all your energy in some mass, preferably somthing that our economy can use.

Yes, you know it, it’s me, your Ed, and as I’ve seen that Och hasn’t seen that much updates lately I thought I’d share a bit about one of Hollands finest artists alive; Sjef Hoelenpapers. (Annoying popupad alert) And now being Sunday evening, I’ve thought about providing you with something to do. Sjef has his own Frikanlullen game!; nice to play with your family around the table, for example with some mini-friet, peanuts and ranja with it. Dieses ist der Dokumentarfilm über Wacken (demonoid), nicht das Schwermetallfestival an sich, aber, wie das Leben in diesem kleinen Dorf ist, das Wirt zum größten Metall-Festival in der Welt ist: Wacken geöffnete Luft. Ich fand dieses vor einiger Zeit und kombinierte den Film, der noch eine uncorrupted Akte mit einer Probe, einem Anhänger und einem newsbulletin in diese Stromakte war.

Leider bilden keine Subtitles, also müssen Sie Deutsches verstehen, möglicherweise Ihre Fremdsprachefähigkeiten eine Spitze aus. (babelfish über alles fur diese text!!)

Kroonjuwelen; Hard Times, Good Times, Better Times is een documentaire over de opkomst van de graffiti in Amsterdam. (Of all places, I know.) Van de punkperiode tot de hiphop en op muren, metro’s en trams. Graffiti heeft wel wat aan underground ingeboet misschien; het is zelfs een heuse kunststroming en het feit dat men een docu maakt over je zegt wellicht ook iets, maar ik zou zeggen; kijkt u voor uzelf middels de pas uitgekomen DVD of via de demonoids.

Inspiratie om eens deze docu te pakken kwam voor mij trouwens omdat ik eens ging zoeken op Dr. Rat, wiens bizarre collages wat mij betreft kunstig laveren tussen de inhoud van de kantlijn van een middelbareschool wiskundeschrift, punk uitingen en traditionele kunst. Al googlend vond ik daarop een mooi verhaal.

Nog een aardig kort artikeltje hier (demonoidslinck) ook, als we dan toch bezig zijn. Over de regulering die er tegenwoordig is.

Last Sunday we were in de Bollenstreek (near the Keukenhof) for a Volkswagen Beetle gathering and sightseeing tour. (Though for most people along the road, the sight of about 60 Beetles and VW Type 1’s and 2’s was the sight) Pictures were posted live from my phone by moi, only they were RAMSed out yesterday evening. (I won’t mention any names.) But ofcourse it’s easy to upload them again and post them in our flickrstream. The blue 1200 with sunr00f (& Marian) was my transportation for the day. Herbie was also there but I forgot to take a picture.

Fur TV is a television series with puppets. (As far as you can call 1 pilot a series.) In it, puppets live happily together with humans in their lovely town. The main characters are a ladies-man, a brute-force man of little words and a weirdo with an obsession for spanking the monkey. Also featuring a couple that may be the first gay-puppet couple on television. Maybe it was a bit too much for the viewers because after the pilot, no more episodes were made. Until recently when MTV bought the series and they’re going to air it quite soon. (Prolly not in klompenland though)

This is also a great opportunity to improve your black metal kvlt skills as the episode for which you can do the demonoid is subtitled in Norwegian.

It’s about a Jewish-Hungarian boy, named Gyurka (guess how I came across this one) / György during the second world war. So I guess you can sort of guess what the overall tone of the movie is.
