Ronflonflon met Jacques Plafond

ronflonflon

Eindelijk teruggevonden!

Moloko Live! 11.000 Clicks!

Written by Braad on Saturday, October 7th, 2006 (8)

Roisin Murphy
Last week Maks already wrote about Moloko’s first album. At that time Moloko was a 2 person project with Mark Brydon responsible for the sounds and Róisín Murphy doing vocals.
Their early concerts were performed just the two of them, so most of the music was pre-recorded like many other ‘live’ performances of electronic music. However, during the years they attracted other musicians and slowly it grew into a real tight live act with Brydon limiting himself to playing bass.

The final gig of their very last big tour has been recorded and released on DVD. Continue reading ‘Moloko Live! 11.000 Clicks!’

Steve Irwin still dead

Written by Braad on Tuesday, September 5th, 2006 (16)

Steve

news update:

After a thorough investigation of today’s news resources we have strong reasons to assume that Steve Irwin is still dead. Some may say he’s not, yet so far we found nothing to substantiate those rumours.

Even after carefully examining media sources from opposing sides of the political spectrum, eg. the often contradicting Fox News and Al Jazeera, at this point we do not find any evidence that he may be alive.

Most of you probably know that South Park’s 10th season is well on its way, the 3rd episode will soon be available.

So far the reminder. Now, here’s something for the freaks:

The 1st season’s DVD was released in 2002. Creators Matt Stone & Trey Parker were asked to do commentaries to all 13 episodes, which they did, but unfortunately never made it to the official release. Yet these commentaries give a very good insight on how the show came to existence and how the characters were shaped.

Learn all about: the hassle with construction paper and how fast they can make the show these days – their first contact with Isaac Hayes – the real Mr. Hat – how Trey Parker got beat up by his real life sister Shelley (like Stan) – why they hate Barbara Steisand so much – how George Clooney helped kick off the show – etc. – etc. – 4.5 hrs of highly enjoyable bullshit!!

Rapidshare links (each rar is seperately playable):
Episode 01-05 (84MB), Episode 06-10 (83MB), Episode 11-13 (49MB)

Instructions: start the commentary track the second the intro song finishes. That way it’ll be in sync.

What? You don’t have the first season’s episodes (anymore)?? Try here!

(many thx to Behanger!)

Juan Torres! aye ayayeeeee!!

Written by Braad on Wednesday, March 1st, 2006 (19)

Most of us, when hearing the words ‘electronic organ’, will immediately think of the late Klaus Wunderlich. Without daring to deny his ultimate greatness, this is most probably the result of cultural bias. Some may see this as proof of Rupert Sheldrake’s theories on morphic resonance, while others may dismiss that as ‘total bollocks’, fact is that on the other side of the ocean there lived a man who was doing the exact same thing as Mr. Wunderlich, at the exact same time, yet both came from very different cultures.
This man was the mexican Juan Torres!

Stereopathetic Soulmanure

Stereopathetic Soulmanure

Like every year, February is lo-fi month on Ochblog!!

This album was released shortly after Beck’s great success with ‘Loser’. It’s a strange collection of mostly early home recordings and other lo-fi shit. The songs vary from blues, country (Johnny Cash did a version of Rowboat), (punk?)rock, street noise and just weird sounds.

If you like coherent concept albums this is definitely not what you’re looking for. Listen to a sample here.
