Series 2 of Spitting Image
The satirical sketch show Spitting Image was a huge success for ITV throughout the 1980s and even well into the ’90s.
Thatcher got a particular bashing, but MPs all along the political spectrum were lampooned, and the show was so popular that the team achieved a number one hit with The Chicken Song. Now, the second series is coming out on TRRNT.

Metal on Metal: Wednesday Movie

“Anvil”; with a bandname sounding as metal as that you wouldn’t expect anything less than “huge success” from a Heavy Metal band. But alas; maybe it was just Canada, maybe it was the timing, or maybe Steve “Lips” Kudlow is just too much of a g00dbag. Despite their influence “Anvil” never made it big, and Lips is still serving food around in his hometown in Canada. They’re actually pretty good, I think, and while they are maybe nog the most original sounding band, they could be way bigger than the are now, giving some better circumstances.
In a documentary as weird a “Spinal Tap” we get a look at the band, of which the two main members have been together for 30 years now. Talk about dedication. I believe that also for non-metalfans this is a great picture that gives you and overview of friendship, rock, dedication and just a glimpse at how weird life can be. You can probably best download it via our Swedish connection here or here in particular. Or maybe you’re just inclined to buying it in the end as this great band is even just distributing their latest release all by themselves.
(Ok, let’s just say; they’re really bad at bandmanagement, though they were at Graspop not too long ago.)

Het lijkt wel of alleen de krant van wakker Nederland de importantie van dit nieuws begrijpt!
Update: Was het dan allemaal toch een boze droom? Laten we het hopen, lieve mensen!
