Every Friday we are treated with new fascinating model material by our beloved Joid. This weekend I came upon this really handy shop where you can have your perfect model make over. A hairdresser, a visagist, bodypainter, a duck propper and a photographer are ready for you in one convenient salon.
The results are real professional and fill me with awe.
African Head Charge

This is my last On-U Sound project-post for now. Despite the flooding this last week, I do hope some of you are still willing to check it because this is a very special one. To say that I’ve saved the best for last surely is an understatement.
African Head Charge is such a unique concept/band that the style of music is hard to describe. Part world music, part industrial, part ambient, part dub. 
Totally outthere and still (after +20years) no sign of anything that even comes close.

More Dub Syndicate

“One Way System” is a peculiar mid 80’s Dub Syndicate album. Very stark, all sounds are in your face and almost industrial in nature. Not my personal favorite but still very interesting due to the obvious experimentation involved.

The two earlier volumes are mostly made up by tunes from their best albums, this one “Classic Selection Vol.3” is a strange duck in the bite. All kinds of unreleased tracks and remixes. It hints to the development of the supersmooth yet heavy dubsound which will be brought to perfection in the next couple of albums…

…which are “Stoned Immaculate” and “Echomania“. Brilliantly executed commercial dub with just enough edge to keep things interesting.
I’ve chosen to highlight Echomania cause there’s already an existing torrent outthere. “Stoned Immaculate” is just as good if not a tad better. Later albums didn’t have the same impact to me.

Mono – Hey, You. (EP) / Peel Session

Started as a GY!BE-clone in 2000, but soon Mono followed their own way in the cliche world of post-rock! Of course the long during tracks of Mono contains many mood changings and mostly you can see the musical outburst from the distance. But these Japanese guys and girl adds a healthy dose of emotion during play which not only makes their concerts a recommended visit (medio december they visit The Netherlands!), but also their cd’s drops off with it.
The first signal of Mono’s existence was the Hey, You. (EP). A raw version of Godspeed. Not their best work, but it shows the high standard where Mono lifts off. During the years that followed they redefined their sound. Which in 2004 led to the utterly brilliant “Walking Cloud And Deep Red Sky, Flag Fluttered And The Sun Shined” (buy). A John Peel Session was the inevitable result.
They’ll never gonna win The Most Original Band Name Contest or the award for Most Innovative Musicians. But hey, who gives a damn with music like this!

No more sticky Neckermanns!

When the internets were not turned on yet, pubering Joid had to row with the riemen that he had. So for a nice fappingtime all the magazines, folders or whatsoever which revealed some skin or more, where more then welcome.
It was especially party when the big Neckermann guide was pushed through the mailbox, because on some pages for sure I would find some revealing skin! At first you had the lingerie pages of course, but also the solarium pages were very much in trek!
But from now on no more sticky pages in the Neckermann because you can find Irene Michelle online!
Irene is not ashamed of her body at all. She doesn’t mind to pose in sexy lingerie, topless or glamour art pr0n.
